After the Equipment Structure, one or more Component Address Groups and one or more Component Addresses have been defined the Setup of a Mounting Position can be started. The Mounting Position is seen as the Connector between one or more Component Address Structures and one or more Technical Components.
But first one needs to decide, if the numbering of the Code (“No.”) of the Mounting Position shall be performed manually or automatically by using Number Series.
Since manual numbering is most common for Mounting Positions, this manual refers to it.
Clicking on “Masterdata” shows the submenu elements depending on the active user role, where “Mounting Positions” can be found.
Searching alternatively for “Mounting Positions” opens the list view.
By clicking on „New“ a new List Element is created and opened in the card page.
- Code of Mounting Position is entered to Field “Code” (max. 20 Characters)
- Description of Mounting Position is entered to “Description” (max. 50 Characters)
- The Field „Search Description“ will be filled automatically like “Description“ but can be changed or extended individually.
Once these first Fields have been filled, the Mounting Position needs to be assigned to one or more Component Addresses, depending on whether a simple or one or more parallel Structures are to be created.
The Assignment is performed by clicking on “Process” and then “Component Address”.
The Assignment is entered to the list “Component Address References”. By Clicking on “New” a new Dataset is added to the list. The Field “Component Address No.” is still empty.
By clicking on the drilldown menu, the desired Component Address can be selected.
If a parallel Structure is to be created, the additional Component Address of the additional Component Address Group must be selected at this point.
It´s recommended to check the Assignment by opening the Equipment Information Center. To navigate from the “Mounting Position” to the “Equipment Information Center” click on “Process” and then „Equipment Structure”.
By Clicking on “Equipment Structure” and “Expand All” the “Equipment Structure” will be expanded.
