Creating a Technical Component

  • Updated

After the Equipment Structure, one or more Component Address Groups, one or more Component Addresses and one or more Mounting Positions have been defined the Setup of a Technical Component can be started.

But first one needs to decide, if the numbering of the Code (“No.”) of the Technical Component shall be performed manually or automatically by using Number Series. Since automatic numbering is most common for Technical Components, this manual refers to it.

Clicking on “Masterdata” shows the submenu elements depending on the active user role, where “Technical Components” can be found.

Searching alternatively for “Technical Components” opens the list view.

  • Automatic numbering is most common for Technical Components. By clicking into a Field like “Description” a new Number is located and automatically entered to Field “No.”
  • Description of the Technical Component is entered to “Description” (max. 50 Characters).
  • The Field „Search Description“ will be filled automatically like “Description“ but can be changed or extended individually.

Once these three Fields have been filled, the Technical Component needs to be “assembled” at the desired position. There are two options:

  • Assigning to a Mounting Position
  • Assigning to a Technical Component

Assigning to a Mounting Position

The Assignment is performed directly at the Card page at the Field “Mounting Position No.
