MAIN-TOOL supports to define Component Places on Technical Components, that can be assigned to their subsequent Technical Components, for example to define Mounting Positions of redundant Systems without having to create an intermediate Mounting Position Level for each or to map process engineering paths of Technical Components and their subsequent Technical Components.
When defining a Component Place, it is possible to assign a number according to which the subsequent Technical Components will be sorted after starting the “Technical Component Curriculum Vitae” in the Equipment Structure and list of Technical Components.
Depending on the choice of setup options in the “Technical Facility Management Setup” a Component Place can be assigned to a subsequent Technical Component only once or to any number of further Technical Components that must be in direct relation with an upper Technical Component.
And depending on the choice of setup options, after the “Technical Component Curriculum Vitae” has been started, the assignment to a Component Place such as the installation and removal of a Technical Component can only be carried out by means of posting transactions in the “Technical Component Journal”, which ensures that any changes will be documented in the “Technical Component Curriculum Vitae”. This makes it possible to trace from when to when, for example, which Technical Component was used at which Component Place in a redundant system.
It is therefore recommended to set up and assign Component Places before starting the “Technical Component Curriculum Vitae”.
Setup Options in the “Technical Facility Management Setup”
In the „Technical Facility Management Setup“, the following relevant settings can be made for the use of Component Places:
- Bind Component Place
- Assignment of Component Place to Technical Component
Component Place Setup
First, a “Component Place” must be created at a Technical Component in order to be able to assign it to a Technical Component located at the next, subsequent, lower component level.
If several Component Places are required, the list of Component Places can be extended as required.
In the following example, four Component Places are to be set up on an air conditioner.
By clicking on “Navigate”, “Technical Component”, then “Component Place”, the list of Component Places of the Technical Component can be opened.
Following Table explains the possible Entries.
Field Name | Description / Information |
Position | Optional, number field (Integer). Causes the assigned technical component(s) to be arranged in the list of Technical Components and Equipment Structure according to this Position Number (and not the Technical Component Code Number) after the Technical Component Curriculum Vitae is started. |
Code | Mandatory, to define the Component Place |
Beschreibung | Optional, to describe the Component Place |
Assigning of a Component Place
As long as the Technical Component is not assigned yet (see Field “Assignment”), the “Component Place” can be assigned in the Card Page of the subsequent assigned Technical Component.
Alternatively, the assignment can be achieved by posting in the "Technical Components Journal", according to the settings. This is also the only possibility after the Technical Component Curriculum Vitae has been started and thus the technical component has been "Bound" (see "Assignment" field).
By searching for " Technical components Journals" and, if necessary, selecting the relevant template, the "Technical components Journals" can be opened.
Depending on the Personalization eventually different columns are displayed. Following table explains the relevant columns for the desired posting process.
Field Name | Description / Information |
Posting Date | Mandatory, preset with working date |
Entry Type | Available:
|
Document No. | optional |
Tech. Component No. | Selection of Technical Component No. for Posting |
Component from | Assignment to a superior Technical Component |
Componenten Place | Assignment to a Component Place of a superior Technical Component |
The following figure shows the required entries to assign a Technical Component to a Component Place.
After the required Information is entered, the desired assignment is performed by clicking on „Post“.
The assignment can be checked in the list of Technical Components. It can be seen that the technical Component is “Bound” and thus the Technical Component Curriculum Vitae has been started.
After assigning the desired Technical Components, the Equipment Information Center can be opened by clicking on “Process”, “Equipment Structure” and the assignment of the Component Places can be checked.
If a „Bill of Material” were stored at one of the Technical Components, this would be displayed in the “Technical Component BOM” Column in the corresponding checkbox.
