After Setup of the Object Monitoring Template, the Technical Object (Component Address, Technical Component and Vehicle) must be linked to the Object Monitoring Template.
In the following example, the object monitoring template „OCOT“ is to be linked with at technical component „Compressor”.
Object Monitoring Lines of the Technical Component
To link the technical object with object monitoring template, the technical component must be opened, e.g. by clicking on "Technical components" in the “Masterdata” menu.
Clicking on the number of the technical component in question opens it for editing and clicking on "Process" and then "Monitoring Lines" opens the list view of the object monitoring lines of the technical component.
- If one or more lines already exist here, the cursor can be placed in the line below and by clicking on “New” a new line will be inserted.
- The code of the desired Object monitoring Template must be entered in the „Template Code“ field.
- When the Template Code is entered and the field is left by clicking “Enter” or “Tab”, a line Number is automatically assigned, and the fields “Type of Monitoring” and “Description” are filled.
By clicking “Process” and then “Card”, the card page of object monitoring line (here 30000) of the technical object “Compressor” is opened. The card page consists of several info tabs, oriented to the four possible monitoring types beside the „General“ tab:
- „Date“
- „Counter“
- „Threshold / Range“
- „Attrition / Consumption“
Object Monitoring Line Info Tab „General“
The „Time Schedule No.“ field is empty. At this point, the decision must be made whether this object monitoring template is to be used "only" for performance characteristics recording (i.e. posting of performance characteristics Ledger Entries) or as a "signal value" for a time schedule that proposes activities depending on the performance characteristics.
This is because a time schedule can be referenced in the "Time Schedule No." field if a reactive or preventive activity is to be assigned, such as maintenance or cleaning.
It is recommended to always enter the first object monitoring line without a time schedule, especially if it is foreseeable that there will be more than one activity, e.g. maintenance after 2000, 5000 and 10000 operating hours, for each of which a different schedule must be assigned.
Thus, in this example, the "Time Schedule No." field remains empty.
Note:
If a technical object no longer exists, the object monitoring line can be deactivated by selecting "Blocked" in the "Status" field.
Object Monitoring Line Info Tab „Counter“
The “Ultimate Value” of the counter reading must now be entered to the field of same name in the „Counter“ tab, so that MAIN-TOOL can evaluate correctly when the counter reading starts counting from the beginning.
The Assignment of the Object Monitoring Template “Counter 4711” to the Technical Component is completed.
Note:
- The entry of the ultimate value of a counter reading in the Counter info tab of the card view of the object monitoring line causes MAIN-TOOL to recognize when the counter starts counting from the beginning. I.e. with each posting of performance characteristics which has a smaller counter value than the last posted value, it is assumed, that the counter has reached the end value and starts counting from the beginning. If, however, a message is to be displayed, when a smaller value is posted, no ultimate value may be stored in order to recognize entries of smaller, and thus possible incorrect, values.
- The fields „Interval“, „Initial Value“ and „Tolerance Value“ can only be edited, if a time schedule has been assigned. As a rule, the Initial value is „0“ or corresponds to the current counter reading. The Tolerance Value defines the tolerance ((+/- value) to the interval. This can be used, for example, to define condition-oriented appointments, e.g. maintenance after 3000 operating hours.
- An automatic inheritance of counter meter readings to technical components stored underneath can be realized.
- The other fields provide information about history and performance characteristics.
- Any number of object monitors can be assigned to a technical object.
