Settings relating to warehouse processes, such as the item tracking setup for items requiring serial and/or batch numbers, are of a fundamental nature. They must and can only be carried out in BC. There are no setup options in this regard when setting up the MAIN-TOOL Mobile app.
The following mechanisms apply when using the MAIN-TOOL Mobile App:
- For all MAIN-TOOL Mobile App actions relating to items, such as Work Order Feedback, Adhoc Work Order, Stock Transfer or Inventory, the fields “Serial No.” and/or “Batch No.” automatically appear when the item is entered if the selected item is subject to serial number, batch number or serial and batch number.
- In this case, the “Quantity in base unit” field cannot be edited.
- For further application functions, the selection of the location and, if applicable, the bin is then the decisive prerequisite for:
- the stock check,
- the automatic filling in of the batch number when the serial number is selected, if the item is subject to serial and batch numbers.
- The required serial and/or batch numbers are only available for selection in the MAIN-TOOL Mobile App actions mentioned above if the item has stock. Only in this case will the numbers that have been stored for the item in BC be displayed.
- If the actions involve the entry of an issue from a location or bin, the quantity entered must not be greater than the stock in MAIN-TOOL. Negative quantities are not permitted.
- If a combination is found during the inventory that is not in stock in BC, it must first be added in BC. One of the reasons for this is that an item with a serial and batch number must first be valuated. This is not done in BC via inventory processes.
- The “standard” inventory is also carried out by entering the missing serial and batch number combination in the “item tracking lines” and not the combinations that have been recorded. Missing serial and batch number combinations can only be detected via combinations with stock.
- The serial and/or batch number can only be entered by clicking on the “pencil” symbol and then entering it.
