Creating a Work Order Request
Following figure shows the process steps of a Work Order Request:
The function button „Create Work Order Request” is available in many MAIN-TOOL Objects:
- in the Equipment-Informationcenter,
- in the Technical Object Masterdata Lists,
- in the Work Order Request Masterdata List.
An effective procedure is to select the technical object in question in the Equipment-Informationcenter and click on "Create new activity" and then "Create Work Order Request".
In this way, the connection to the technical object and, if applicable, its cost center is already assigned in the new Work Order Request and the entry can be started with the description fields. It is recommended to additionally enter the fields "Person in Charge No." or "Res. Department No." as well as "Work Order Category Code", if known. Basically, these fields are for information purposes only at this stage and can be completely changed by the Work Planner in case of a Work Order derived from them.
The following figure shows a selected technical object for which the Creation of a Work Order Request can be triggered by clicking on "Create new activity" and then "Create Work Order Request":
The following figure shows a extensively filled Work Order Request before registration:
After the creation and description of the Work Order Request is finished, it has to be confirmed by clicking “Register”, that the Entry of the Work Order Request is completed. Only then this Work Order Request is displayed as new Work Order Request in the Role Center of the Work Planner.
Note:
- After the recording of the Work Order Request, clicking on “OK” (in opposite to “Register”) only triggers, that this Work Order Request is closed without registration and stored in the list of Work Order Requests until further processing and eventually later registration. She will not be displayed in the Role Center.
- Registered and unregistered Work Order Requests remain as long stored in the List of Work Order Requests until they are posted, while the Work Planner only gets notice of the registered Work Order Requests.
- With the Posting Process the registered Work Order Requests are added to the posted Work Order Requests, which is synonymous to saving for documentation purposes or adding to the “Technical Component Curriculum Vitae”.
A registered Work Order Request can no longer be deleted.
