These release notes describe the changes in version 20260900.2, released on October 10, 2026.
Bug fixes
Mobile app: Execution date-time added to generated journal and feedback lines
Fixed an issue that occurred when generating work order journal lines, work order feedback lines and work order feedbacks: the Execution Date-Time field was not filled.
"Create Purchase Order" no longer available in search
The Create Purchase Order function no longer appears in the search. You can still open it from the work order lines.
Work Order Posting Setup: all accounts available on the card
On the Work Order Posting Setup Card, not all of the accounts that can be maintained in the list view were available.
- The external service expense account and the consumption and adjustment accounts for non-inventory items have been added.
- The Show All Accounts toggle now also takes effect on the card and reveals the related interim accounts, which previously remained hidden even when the toggle was switched on.
Accounts that had already been entered through the list are therefore now visible and editable on the card, too.
Readable type name in planned work order lines
In the overview of planned work order lines, which you open from the planning columns of the work order budget, the Type column previously showed only a number. It now displays the name of the respective line type: Item, External Service, Resource or Resource Group.
Text editor for comments uses the available window height
The text editor for comments now adapts to the window size and uses the available height.
Prompt removed when copying documents into work orders
Fixed an issue that occurred when copying a document (e.g. another work order) into a work order using the Copy Document action: with details included, a prompt asked whether to delete an already existing dimension. Regardless of the answer, the dimension from the source document was applied anyway.
This unnecessary and misleading prompt no longer appears; the dimension is now applied directly as expected when copying.
Fixed error message when changing the status of work orders with multiple details
Fixed an issue that could occur when raising the work order status to Finished if the work order contained several details with work order texts for performance characteristics: an unjustified error message appeared, and the status change was cancelled even though the recorded results were correct.
If an open performance data ledger entry already existed for the first detail but not yet for a following detail, the values of the first detail were incorrectly used to validate that detail. The validation now takes into account only the entries belonging to each individual detail, so the status change completes as expected.
Fixed prompt and error message when copying documents into work order feedback
Fixed an issue that occurred when copying a document (e.g. a work order) into a work order feedback using the Copy Document action: with details included, a prompt asked whether to delete an already existing dimension, and copying the document lines could also result in an error message.
Neither occurs anymore: the dimension is now applied directly as expected, and the document lines are copied without errors.
Open the work order from a posted work order request
On the card of a posted work order request, the work order created from it could no longer be opened, even though the Work Order No. was displayed. The work order no. can now be clicked again and takes you to the related work order.
"Create Purchase Quote" no longer available in search
The Create Purchase Quote function no longer appears in the search. You can still open it from the work order lines and the conflict FactBox in the work order.
Correction of cost amounts in work order value entries for purchases in a different unit of measure
Fixed an issue that occurred when an item was purchased for a work order in a unit of measure other than the base unit of measure: the cost amounts in the work order value entries were calculated too high, because the quantity in the base unit of measure was multiplied by the price of the purchase unit of measure.
This affected purchase receipts, invoices and credit memos as well as undoing purchase receipts. The amounts are now calculated correctly.
Upgrade note
Work order value entries that have already been posted are corrected automatically during the update.
Barcode / QR code visible again on the technical object cards
On the component address, mounting position, technical component and vehicle cards, the Barcode / QR Code field is shown again for all users. Previously the cards only showed whether a barcode exists; the Barcode or QR code exists field is no longer displayed.
Business Central mobile app
When recording a work order request, you can now scan a barcode or QR code, or enter a number, in the Detail No. field without selecting a reference object first:
- All technical objects are searched automatically and the reference object is set accordingly.
- If several objects match, you can select the desired entry from a list.
- If no object is found, a clear message is shown.
Empty description in work order details is filled in during upgrade
When a work order was created from several origin lines, the Description field of one of the resulting work order detail lines stayed empty. The empty description was also carried over into the feedback details and the posted feedback details. The description is now filled correctly when work orders are created.
Upgrade note
When updating to this version, the missing description is filled in automatically from the related technical object in existing open, closed and canceled work orders, as well as in feedbacks and posted feedbacks.
Previous price determination available again
The previous price determination is available again in all supported Business Central versions and is active by default. Unit costs, sales prices and line discounts are therefore determined once more from the familiar price tables for items, resources and resource groups; the feature update for the new sales pricing experience does not have to be enabled for this.
The price determination applies to:
- Work order lines
- Work order feedback lines
- Work order journal lines
- Time schedule lines
- Contract activity lines
- Workshop invoice lines for damage claims
Corrected unit cost for resources with a different unit of measure
Fixed an issue that occurred when a unit of measure code other than the base unit of measure was selected for a resource in a work order line, work order feedback line, time schedule line or contract activity line: the unit cost was multiplied again by the unit of measure conversion factor each time the quantity was changed, so the unit cost and the line amount were shown too high.
The unit cost is now determined according to the selected unit of measure in all of these lines and remains correct when the quantity changes.
Improvements & enhancements
Budget planning considers outstanding quantities of partially reported work orders
In the work order budget, the planned consumption of a work order line is now calculated from its outstanding quantity. Previously, a line dropped out of planning entirely as soon as part of it had been reported, so the available budget was shown too high.
- The outstanding amount remains in planning until the line is fully reported.
- Closed and canceled work orders are no longer counted as planned.
- The Planned Work Order Lines page additionally shows the outstanding quantity and the line amount; the summed column shows the outstanding amount.
Automatic maintool App import on first installation
During the initial installation of maintool mobile, the Auto Update Mobile App option in the Mobile Setup is enabled automatically, since there is no previous XML file that could be accidentally overwritten. The maintool app is therefore imported directly without any additional manual steps.
Upgrade note
When updating an existing installation in which this option did not exist yet, it is disabled by default so that existing customizations are not overwritten.
